Holiday rental booking portal HouseTrip has announced funding of $40 million which will be used to develop new products and services.
HouseTrip was established in early 2010 with the aim of making the process of booking holiday rental accommodation ‘both anxiety-free and easy-to-use’ whilst also helping property owners generate more income.
Junjun Chen-Bertrand, Co-founder and CFO, welcomed the addition of Accel Partners to its investor group; “We are very excited to welcome Accel Partners as we look to expand internationally. Their experience in taking companies global will be a critical asset for the next phase of our growth,” he says.
This comes less than a year after the company secured a $17 million boost from Index Ventures and Balderton Capital.
The site, with a particular focus on Europe, boasts 130,000 rental properties in more than 15,000 destinations. Room nights booked are expected to exceed 3 million by the end of the year.
