Holiday Lettings Deactivates Over 2000 Listings
HolidayLettings.co.uk has deactivated over 2000 properties this year from its system for ‘consistently poor service’ contravening its website rules.
The company says that 2100 properties (1% of its total portfolio of rental properties) have been deactivated for failing “to engage with traveller enquiries” including attempts to confirm bookings directly with customers externally from the Holiday Lettings website and not be subject to the applicable 3% commission fee. Current Holiday Lettings regulations stipulate that both guest and owner email addresses are not made visible until a booking has been confirmed.
“As a TripAdvisor company, we’re committed to providing travellers with a positive search and book experience that results in a secure and easy booking” the company said. “Not only are we the sole British vacation rental site to offer free payment protection to travellers, but we’re now also taking steps to protect the entire experience.”
Holiday Lettings has also said that it will be rewarding the “most responsive” property owners with better ranking positioning in search results plus those that offer online payments to guests – which includes financial protection for bookings and payments.
